Get creative for
epilepsy awareness!
More than 3.4 million people worldwide are diagnosed with epilepsy. Tragically, each year — more than 50,000 lives are taken due to this neurological disorder. This is why we ask Shelby and Desoto County; as well as those around the world to come together during epilepsy awareness month in November to show their support for those who have lost their battle with epilepsy and for those who are still fighting. A diagnosis of epilepsy can be a traumatic experience that can severely disrupt a family and working life; however, outcomes are improving according to CDC.
By participating in events like Pin it Purple, the public can help Hearts of Epilepsy Foundation provide support services to improve the quality of life for those affected by epilepsy, along with potential treatments and prevention measures.
Throughout November, you can show your support by purchasing one of our Purple Ribbons, Pins, and/or wristband items to raise funds for life-saving devices, prevention programs, support services and much more for those diagnosed with epilepsy. Therefore, get your family and friends together to help raise vital funds to support those affected by epilepsy.
